It may be part of what is special here : a dark, ominous view of snow covered tops. It gives the picture a unique tension, and I feel that the tension is followed by the continuity of the panes loosing themselves in the distant horizon.

Hi Gary,
Glad to see you back on UF. Your mountain pics are all amazing again! I have a slight preference for this one because of the multiple levels emphasizing the majesty of the various mountains. The composition is perfect: some strong shadows in the foreground and some more weak ones in the background.

Hi Derek... I believe this was a fairly early morning shot... but by mid Sept, the sun isn't up until 8am or so... probably taken at in the 9am range. Thanks for the comment. gary
