About Ok ok... so they're not really succulents :)) Only my mother-in-law's (Verna) gorgeous gerberas. However, she DOES grow succulents and at one stage, sold some at a local market. She had me design her business cards and they read; "Verna's Sexy Succulents", hence the title of this image... :))
This one's for that fabulous lady.

Great angle with the ones in the background, looks like fireworks in the thumbnail.

Best wishes,
Dave

Rina, don't think for a moment that your work didn't inspire me! I'm just waiting for the right moment to do some B & W flowers or wicked trees and give you credit! I love your creativity and unconventional explorations and I'm looking forward to your future posts! Cheers, Ina

Thanks Todd. Glad you liked it :)

Yup, Verna's a cracker! I'm extremely lucky. There aren't too many women out there who can say the same thing about their mother-in-laws

Just went back to take another look at your portfolio, but never made it past your bio! Still re-reading it now and still trying to work out how tom cruise fits in with the rest of your eclectic 'influences du jour'! :)))))

Superb sharpness and detail, I hate when I have to comment on DOF, but yes, great DOF too! Love the dark background in contrast. Very beautiful!

WOW Rina....David's Gerberas certainly are an interesting variety with those long textured outer petals. I do like the B&W conversion as it gives it more.... oomph (sorry - only word that comes to mind right now) and it compliments the DOF and composition nicely. I really enjoy the title too. Great play on words. :)

Thanks also Rina for taking the time to view and comment on my iamges. Much appreciated.

Cheers - Ann :)

Oh god... I could have sworn she said they were gerberas! (races to the phone, starts dialling mother-in-laws number)...

If you say they're dahlias David, then I believe you! Memory like a sieve, I have...

Thank you for your encouraging comments. I'm so glad you likey!!

You'll be relieved to know that these beauties were spared from any of 'Rina's little accidents'. Although unfortunately, the same can't be said for the arrangement of potted succulents Verna gave me a while back...

Thanks for dropping by Linda. So glad you like it!
Cheers :)

Rina, well done, was just looking through a bunch of b&w shots and thinking how grey and pasty they can be.....then bingo, up popped your image, a very pleasing b&w composition, great title, so there not succulents...who cares!! cheers, david.
