The rails have been emphasized & their is now depth to the composition, indeed an improved version Markus, best wishes.

You are right, Roland. I tried it out with better contrast and it's improved. Have a look at the attached.

Like the atmosphere & the array of lines. The red cable car really sticks out over the entire image, I believe more contrast (Just My Opinion) Markus will give the composition that final punch. Well seen otherwise, regards.

Hi Markus! Looking in the dictionary is one of the most fun parts of participating in UF :) This is a very good angle/compo and the red train is placed just perfectly! Excellent stuff, congrats!

The difference between an 'amateur' and a 'pro', Markus, is...well, money! In the USA, if you earn 30% or more of your income by taking photographs, then by ?law?, you are considered a professional. The designation has nothing to do with ?ability?! In my experience, the so-called ?amateurs? have captured most of the world?s best images. In my book, I see no distinction - we're all just photographers and the examples seen on USEFILM are testament to the ability of 'amateurs'. I love nothing more that looking at other people?s profiles and marveling at the incredible ability and vision of some of the members here. So, never consider yourself an amateur or ?admire? others ? we?re all the same.

Thanks, Len, for the lection on the difference between AE and BE. We face a similar problem in Austria with the German language. It's said, that what distinguishes Germans from Austrians most is the common language;)

As an amateur I feel honoured to get a comment from a professional, Graham.

Lovely monotone image, Markus. Great work - and the small bit of red works well.

Wonderful example of the use of a Primary color for impact. Great picture!

That's a scene that takes me back a few years...Good capture...The red forms a very real contrast to the narrow colour range and the array of lines.

Well done!

Best wishes, Len.

(For what this is worth: in British English, we tend to say 'railway' rather than 'railroad', but there's nothing wrong with using 'railroad'.)
