About A few drops of milk dropped from a straw into a bowl of milk, with a little food colouring added. See also "Milk Drop".

Thanks, Roger, for encouraging use of this "non-standard" format.

Such an amazing vision! U've created something beautiful & unique out of a few drops of milk! All I've been doing with my milk is to quench my thirst & possibly more constructively replaced some lost calcium ;-)

Rina: many thanks for your comment and tip. I have just had a quick look at liquidsculpture.com which confirms the conclusion I already had in mind viz. I need to start experimenting with flash rather than using natural lighting. (This one was taken outside in very bright sunshine.)

John,

liquidsculpture.com

If you haven't already been to this website, you simply must check it out. I came across it while browsing for an 'idiots guide' to depth of field :)) and was very impressed with the online simulator. Not to mention all the incredible shots!!!

As soon as I saw your image (which, along with milk drop, is just beautiful), I thought I'd let you know about it.

I have a new appreciation for how much effort goes into producing an image of this calibre. Well done.

Cheers
Rina

Awesome shot. The colors are great. Certainly reason to work harder on, as you say a "non-standard format. thanks for sharing, patrick.

Hi John! Thought I'd been commenting on my own images there for a minute. Actually, I'm a bit surprised that UF allows the same name to be registered twice. Anyway, I look forward to seeing your images - I had a quick check just now but found nothing uploaded...

Very creative: reminds me of a kind of 3-D watercolour painting, wet-in-wet colour mixing on paper gives a similar but flat effect. Incidentally, we share the same name, and I also originated in Manchester, UK!

Hmmmm. I was hoping you'd find an opportunity to play with the vertical panorama format. It works very well, here. Fascinating images, as always...

WOOW!
