One would normally expect to see a duck, a goose or maybe a heron by the waterside. But a chuck...hahahaha!! You caught me on this one. I love the vivid colours and the position of the chicken. Excellent work.

Janet, it's nice that you were able to see him in concert. My primary exposure to Hartford was the LP "Aereo-Plain".
More recently his DVD, "Down from the mountain" - the musicians of the movie "Oh Brother, Where art thou?"(I think) is also excellent.
Harford was also a steamboat pilot. Maybe that was his inspiration for "Watching the river go by".
He moved on along the river in 2001.

Hey TR,
How's things?
Well, this shot you have seen previously. I like the composition, but it's not too sharp. I think I was moving, the chicken was moving, the wind was moving the lilies, and the shutter was moving too slow here. Ha!
But it's kind of funny. I'll probably take it down pretty soon. "Chooks" you call them, I think.
Been messing around with my Canon F1 a bit, as the Sony is still at the repair shop.

Funny to get your reply now...I just finished finding/preparing the chicken shots for you. And!! I just read your 'about' again and noticed your words were from John Hartford....actually went to see him years ago with my brother who was a huge fan of his! I believe it was probably in the early 80's. He was awesome!
