About Here is what Tri-X and and orange filter would have made of the big green leaves in the previous photo. I am very fond of the images my El Cheapo Helios lens gives.

Thanks, Hugh. Is it the kind of artwork you will post on Usefilm? If so, I'd like to keep an eye open for it. The Helios is a Russian lens that cost me all of US$50 new (including P&P) so it must be one of the biggest bargains in photography. Of course not everyone wants an M42 lens mount! (It's not only sharp IN focus but has nice soft out-of-focus areas. That's quite rare!)

I like this and it has given me some inspiration for some art work.
That little helios sure takes chrisp shots.

Thanks, Paul. I think you mean a little kick on the curves at both ends--slightly brighter highlights and a slightly darker dark cut-off. I think the mid-tones come out OK. Well, I tried, but this was about the best I could manage. The exposure WAS difficult. I never bracket normally, but this is one occasion when I should have tried it.

Bold idea to do green in gray! ;-) The effect is classic.

Best wishes,
--George

I like the image but I think it needs a bit more contrast. Seeing that there is a bright and dark area of the composition, I think the exposure settings were probably difficult.
