Thanks Darlene, Yes I have the 400mm DO and the 500mm F/4 but hardly if ever use the 500 as I handhold 99 percent of the time, and the 400mm DO is the only canon super tele that is fast and light enough to shot how i like to, but overpriced .....

That the first decent comment you ever left LOL.
Its because the outside of the wing has very thick feathers so when you freeze that with a fast shutter speed there is no motion in the feathers giving it that look..
