I don't entirely agree... The grain of the image together with the colors make it look almost like a pastel drawing. If it had a nice frame around it I would have thought it was a painting. I like it. If you use Photoshop there's a nice plug-in from flaming pear called SuperBlade Pro, you can make some amazing frames with it. Take a look at some of my framed work, that's SBP

Hi, Thanks for yur comments. You are right, the lighting was very poor in this shot, but the flowers were almost always in the shade and I wanted to take them in the garden. Oh well, no matter what i did in PS, the results were not very satisfactory. I will take a look at neatimage. I wonder if it can reduce grain without reducing overall sharpness? Thanks for the tip.

it is not that I do not like this photo (remebert that I noticed it amont hundreds uploade daily!) but it would look better if taken in better light conditions.
My little hint... you can use neatimage to reduce grain (freeware at www.neatimage.com)

Hello! Sorry you didn't like the photo. The grain is actually unintentional. You are right, it was dark light, so I did lighten it in PS and sharpened a little. When it came out like this I thought it wasn't too bad an effect. Normally, I like sharpness as well, so thanks for your comment. Greg

Why it is so grainy? Have you added the grain in any Photoshop-like programe?
BTW, I do not think so it was Photoshop as the edges are very jagged. It must heve been a very simple programe.
It seems that the grain was your "artistic" view, especialy taking into consideration that the photo was taken with with Canon Digital Rebel (that is known for low noise images) or the photo was taken in very bad light condition and you changed brightnes and contrast.
Whatever... , IMHO this kind of "artistic" photos do not look nice unless are black&white (i.e. pretending high ISo, high grain).
