About maybe overboard on the darkening here.

Crop suggestions? I initially cropped out the white sky, but then couldn't decide...

color to B&W

Thanks Andre! It's been awhile since I've looked at this one too. This is a good reminder to look for cool clouds!

Hi Kes,
Now this is kind of spooky!!!
I had no idea that you already had an image up that is almost exactly as I described the way I would like to see your latest. "One Lane House"
Now I'm wondering if I did see this one before and it stayed in the back of my mind subliminally?

Anyway I can't very well say I don't like this one, can I!
I do like this one... A lot!

I love your cloud pictures, this one especially cuz of the old farmer. I feels even more...vast (for lack of a better word) then the others

Its a great image Kes and I understand your indecision with the crop. It seems its got a double personality but it looks fine. This could also be a Marlboro moment.

It's strange, the color version makes it not scarry, but comical instead. It almost looks like a scarecrow, a scare-cow-boy-jeepers-creepers. I'm not demanding, i'm curious! and what 12pack?

Ok Derek, you're a little demanding...

Just kidding. (in the library! shhhhh!)

Derek, there go your K points.

Man's battle with good and evil? The battle of good and evil? Either way, if so, that explains the washed out white contrasting with the black, huh?

Or...

lol, Jeepers Creepers!!! Run away!

...just another grab shot...

Thanks for the comments and suggestions!

This fence crosses a hill at about 8000' elevation in Colorado. I was waiting for some horseback riders coming up the hill along the fenceline. After a while I went to see where they were, and used the self timer (Sammy - the hat?) (yep Janet - it's the visitor again!) and walked into the shot.

The riders had turned and were about 1/4 mile away. Wouldn't that have been a great shot?!?

Great image!! I think I would just burn in the clouds a bit on the upper right. I like the crop and the space on the right...I think the top could be cropped down just a bit. Nicely titled as well. Really jumps out.

Love the clouds, Keseph (or Kes!!??)!
I love that they seem to touch the ground.
Would this figure be 'The Visitor' again?
PERFECT!

I dont know how it looked originally, but i really like it the way it is. The sky really stands out this way. And i really like it in black and white too, im glad you converted it. I dont think you went overboard on darkening, it really has a good mood about it this way. I am curious to see what it looked like before though.
Where did you take this? It reminds me of home. (kansas) Im in Canada now.

I do think that the bottom is a bit dark...only because you can't see the guy's legs. Would have been an incredible silhouette shot if he had been standing at the top of the hill...on the horizon. This would have made an interesting infrared shot as well.

Great capture though!

Kes-

Fabulous!!
I don't think it's too dark.
In fact I would burn in the
clouds in the upper right
a bit, here and there.

There's a place for a very
small crop off the top, but
I would leave the "big sky"
the way it is..

Self timer?
