About This was taken in Rabat on the same evening as ?Three Cats Sleeping?, ?Waiting on a Friend? etc. So the light was fading fast and I was trying to be discrete. I liked the way the image had very limited tones - the pastel blue, pastel green and brown. I worried about the perspective for a while and created a version with the buildings all lined up with the frame of the image, but then decided that the sloping lines added to the overall feeling. I did work a little on the tones and sharpness in PSP9: the woman is still a little soft due to the movement.

...pleased that you mentioned the 'sloping lines' John, I find this a very pleasing shot, colors and overall composition are really good, the position of the figure relative to the two lights (!), the way the perspective adds weight to the movement of the figure, is she walking uphill or down, etc. it's very good, well done and thank you for your comment on my work. cheers, david.

Hi Roger! Maybe I need to explain a bit more... I took this image with the camera held low, looking into the flipped-up screen, making it difficult to see exactly what I was shooting. I didn't intentionally make the buildings lean. When I came to look at the image I had captured, I quite liked it, but thought it could do with straightening up (among other things). Nevertheless, having processed it, I decided that I preferred the original image - the one I posted. I must admit, I am rather surprised by the positive responses this image has received in general!

I really don't understand how making all the verticals lean to one side helps this image. I've no problem with the slight motion blur.

Hi John, A fellow traveler.....always good to find. A very nice shot here. I love Morocco and this captures the mood perfectly. You have a great portfolio, checked it out. I see you use alot of song titles (like me) and are a Stones fan. If you want to keep up with their new tour and all things Stones www.iorr.org is a really good site. Warsaw and Southern Spain? Interesting combo (I love Andalusia but haven't been to Poland since 1991). Zosia Zija is a really good Warsaw based Photog. on UF (don't know if you're aware of her or not) Keep in touch. Take Care, Mark

Great street shot. Looks like a good choice to leave it 'sloppy'. Well done.
