Hello Matt. Thank you for your comment. You are right about the house dating back to the early 1800s. The house was situated in a very crowded space and I could not access most of it. This shot was the best I could do.

You are right about my using a posterizing filter using the soft lighting mode. The image was first worked in PS 5.5 and finished in CS2 where I applied the smart sharpening filter. It seemed to work for the texture included in this shot.

It has some straight lines and diagonals that somehow compliment each other, and the looping fence contrasts this formwise.
By the way this fence looks like it is from the 1800's. I hope you took some more shots of it.
One small critique, it seems posterized. Was this intentional?
