About Here is "Grandma's Dress" with all of the suggested changes. I like it in black and white, I just wish that the image was a little sharper. The lack of "crispness" is probably from using 400 speed film.

Nice angle. Good choice of lens for the desired effect. Just a bit out of focus.
Well done.

Hi Sheila!
Thanks you so much for your comments on my work! Usefilm is such a great place to learn! The people are so nice and helpful. Not only that, but just looking at some of the really good photographers adds tons of ideas to "the bank!" Welcome...you're going to love it! (Careful of the addicting factor, however!) :)
I really like this shot quite a bit better in b&w. Ruta did a great job with the unsharp mask, too. This is what Usefilm is all about! Look forward to watching your work!

I`m glad you liked changes. I used Paint Shop Pro: unsharp Mask + increase of Contrast

Ruta-

I like what you did with the photo. It's a subtle change that makes the world of difference. How were you able to achieve that? When I tried to sharpen the image with my program, I felt like it distorted the image slightly. I don't see any distortion in yours. Thanks so much for the help. This is why I signed on with usefilm and I just love it!

Thanks!
Sheila

Me too I like more the b&w version. The sharpness may be lost by scanning (me too i have offen the same problem).
I tried to unsharpen the photo, hope you dont`n mind.
Regards
R.

Yes, I do like the black and white better, and I agree about the sharpness. It's a really nice photograph all the same.

Oh yeah, I like the B/W way more. Kind of gives it a vintage feel to go along with the great dress. Nice job.
