About Emily the cow vaulted over a 5 foot slaughterhouse fence in 1993 and spent the next 40 days evading capture in a winter of heavy snow - assisted by the townspeople of Sherborn, Mass. She was seen running with herds of deer before she was rescued (bought) and accommodated at the Peace Abbey. She died some years later and this bronze monument, in Hindu sacred garb, pays tribute to her life and contribution to understanding about being kind to animals :) 18mm focal length, front curtain flash.
