About I had never seen a red sunflower, so I was not surprised today when I discovered that the water in the vase had turned pink - and yellow petals began appearing on "Big Red". This view looks as if the wind is blowing from the opposite direction that in the previous post. Fake red or not, it is still pretty, but as you can see, I am still working on getting those reds right.

You're okay Mary - I am not sure what I meant either. I think I got my M's confused and this should have gone to Margaret Sturgess. She has been known to put faces on some of her uploads. It was only with your moon shots that I saw you added red lines and circles to point out landmarks. Aren't you glad I cleared that up? Sorry, but aren't you happy to know that it's not you? :-) Jan

Okay Janice. I've had this reply in my mailbox for a bit. I must say that it did confuse me some as I'm not quite sure what it means.?

Thanks Gilberto - it was different and a double surprise. The first surprise was that I didn't know they grew red sunflowers - the second one was when I discovered the red dye leaching out into the water and the petals starting to go back to yellow. Too funny. Have a good one - keep shooting! Your friend - Jan

Thanks Mary - now someone I know on usefilm could probably go in there and put a happy face on this little "gal" with the fly-away hair. Hmmmm, wonder who that would be? Wonder who is guilting of doing that very thing to some of her uploads. With a little happy face, this would make a cute greeting card. Hint! Hint! LOL Jan

Sunflowers make me smile as they do look like their hair is blowing in the wind. It looks neat red. This is a great composition, Jamioce.

Thank you Linda, I really treasure your comments and feedback on my shots. Usefilm is better than a university! Too bad time is in such short supply that we can't offer or get comments/advice as much as I'd like. To know why someone likes a shot or why they don't or what is wrong with it is sooooo helpful. Especially if they suggest ways to reshoot or correct, etc. Thanks again. Jan

Janice this is lovely...nice diagonal, these flowers almost seem to be saying something don't they? Maybe it's the large center seeming like a face..and the framing by the petals, like hair...anyway this is a beautiful rendition, the colors are lovely, the composition is wonderful and it's very well presented...:):)Linda

You beccha - smart man staying away during the summer months...everything (almost) gets a sunburn, including this poor sunflower - but until last month at least it was a dry heat. :-D Thanks for taking the time to comment. Jan

Thank you Toshi - I was really hoping that these sunflowers would open up - but they are not. At least this one opened up somewhat. Jan

Thank you for your comments Zeev - I really aspire to take landscapes, and at some point would like to add some of the magic to my shot as you have in your photos where you have used IR. Very different. Jan

Mom, I really really like this shot! Kim say's that it resembles a Lions mane. I think this shot with out the distracting background flowers, Really allows the beauty of this Sunflower to Shine!

That is very different. You must be getting pretty hot down there to turn the sunflowers red?? Very nice Janice. Don.

Wonderful shot, I love the colors to it - not a usual sight for this flower :) I really like the angle to show off the petals as well. Very nicely captured Janice.
