I must admit, I was VERY SURPRISED to see your name with a comment on this one. (worse than flower images I take it!) LOL
But, bless your heart, you did leave several words, which I very much appreciate...
Yes, I did desaturate as the light color on the cat just didn't go real well with the carpet. And used the history brush for the eyes and nose. Then I bumped up the color just a tad.

Hi Lory, I might as well attempt commenting on a kitty shot... Believe me, it's something I've never done before, and I feel rather unconfortable at it...;)
To me, it looks as if you've desaturised everything except nose and eyes. Maybe even changed the tone, as the blue of the eyes realy pierces my screen.
Then something I feel more adept at, and that's discussing the composition. I like the way the cat fills the frame, and I do think the presentation fits the theme. So basically, that's rather non-committal, and pretty lame, too....:)
Soft and lovely? I'd go for very soft and fluffy.
Cute? Sure!
Hope all is well, and I'm definitely longing for a shot I have somehting more useful to say about...:)
