The range in this is amazing. It goes from dark to very bright all in a small area, yet pulls it off very well. I don't do much B&W, but this makes me want to. Well done.

The different planes are very pleasant (the guitar and his face). The framing of his face with shadow is of course excellent. Small details like his collar, the hair on his face and their shadows, the scar on his finger etc. add to the charisma of this shot.
I would like to see a little less negative space in the bottom right, but I can see that it may be part of your style.
Imagine how pleased he will be to look at this wonderful portrait 20 years from now.
