Sorry Rob,for not explaining myelf properly.I like the effect of using shallow DOF in your pic but I somehow feel that instead of blurring BOTH the BG and the Fg if you could have kept the mushrooms in the fg with the bg blurred I'd have liked it more.It is just an opinion.I'm not a macro shooter so I'm not commneting/advising on how to do it.I must also mention that I love the lighting too.

The title is great for this picture. I like that the focused part is not a straight line. That really adds character and makes one's eye move along that sloping path. The composition is wonderful.

Thanks Elly! I am glad you liked the DOF too; that and the mushroom taking center stage appealed to me. :) Thanks!!!

Thanks for the great review of what appealed to you about this! I am trying all sorts of different subject material and expand my horizons. I have lots of work to do but the great thing is I love learning! :) I learned a lot from Peta while down there; she has a great eye and you should see her work from 35mm film; great stuff. But anyhow; thanks!!! Love You!

This is great - I like the way you have focused on the center (mushroom???) and the rest of what is in the shot is blurred - both front and back. You can still see the other two mushrooms and the vegitation front and back adds very interesting angles to the photo as a whole - without diverting attention to the "center of attention." The lighting on that little guy just makes it glow and really stand out. The color contrast is super - Isn't nature wonderful? Mom

Anindya...I am confused...how can you like the DOF but not agree with the FG & BG Blurred. How would you do it with a macro lens then? Thanks for the feedback!!

Nice use of DOF and good colours. However, personally I don't agree with blurring both the fg and the bg in this.
