My complements on this fantastic image.
What a blend of colors, the deep wood tones on the boat with the reflections from the clouds on the glass water. The barren ground reflects the tones of the boat and the quakes change the tones and evenly blend up the hill.
And what else to top off the image....a perfect deep blue sky with perfect clouds.
Well deserved staff choice.

Great colors, enchanting theme. Did you use fill flash to brighten the inner wall of the shaded boat?
The only minor point I notice is the conflicting direction of the cloud compared to the direction of the boat. It might have been more congruent if the boat had been pointing rightward.

Bill, this is a stunning photo. I was browsing the thumbnails of recent photos, and couldn't resist clicking to see it larger. Perfect exposure on the water -- there's a hint of detail even in the shadows, and the boat just jumps out at you. It makes you feel like you're standing on a dock at a lodge.. The bright blue sky in the necessary finishing touch, with the wispy white clouds.

Really great pic Bill... the sharpness and color separation really adds to the shot here.
Here is the one thing I notice, but dont necessarily think it detracts from the pic: The composition sort of looks like 3 separate images.. the boat; the sky; and the land.
Regarless.. really great photo and bold exciting color.

Bill, you nailed the perspective on this one. The boat puuullls the viewer into the image. Plus the swishy shape of the clouds mirrors the lineation of the boat. Very very nice.
