Oh Margaret - I am so encouraged - your uploads are super and I do admire them - just goes to prove that perhaps some ignorance is bliss and that happy accidents can produce something worth viewing. As I said in a post to someone else, we learn from each other and what is posted. A picture is sometimes worth a thousand words - but words do help. Thank you for your comments. PS - My quilt is going to be spectacular - and that shot that Ken took and dedicated for you - wow! Just hope I am doing it justice. Jan

Janice This little lily sure does ' stand out' the colours and detail are excellent, Great composition - when you have had lessons, I will be able to get a few pointers from you - I don't understand much at all, either about the camera or photography.

Ok after you take your classes you will have to help me with the terms for things. Remember me telling you to stomp down the light? haha lol
One term I learned here is, PHD camera. push here dummy.. that is not what I have now, gosh...

Thanks Ellen - now I know a new-to-me term. My poor little manual is getting tattered from being read and referenced so often. Will be taking some classes next month so, it is hoped, that I will learn a little bit more about the ins and outs of this camera and photography in general. Jan - I'll be Ray - he was great and loved his music. Say him live in concert once. What a performance!

Well, maybe about the spot metering. Rob told me to take it off Basic Mode and go to creative mode under P and then set the focus on the center square. Is that spot metering? If so, that's what I did. Still can't get used to the fact that I can be quite far from the flower and still produce a really good close up. I really think I am liking this new camera.
