This is an amazing aged portrait capture taken by your grandfather, Perfect lighting and very impresive tone which I did enjoy a lot viewing, all of the best my dear friend, may be we some how travel to Thailand together for photography one day .

Thank you Maxime, for your generous comment on my portfolio and this photo by my grandfather - from 1932.
I agree is it fashionable, but photo-art only in as much as I scanned and cleaned up the original and changed some of the levels and contrast.
Have you changed your name to M. now?

Thanks, Claire. It has a glow. My grandfather was an artist with the camera "The Dean of Boston Photographers" according to the Boston Post.
My Mother who is pictured, became a talented artist with the brush and palette knife.

there is an amazing, almost halo effect to this shot...why don't people have this grace and dignaty about them these days? as i say over and over, i love old photographs, and this is a beautiful example

Yes, Ellen, I agree. The hair is amazing. Vintage Faye Ray. I have a newspaper photo of her that looks just like this. This photo was taken '32 and Faye Ray appeared in "King Kong" in '33.
I can't wait to see the new "King Kong". All due respect to Jessica Lange for her version, this could be the best yet.

Stefan, I was so lucky to find this original photo, when going through my mother's things.
I am so proud of how beautiful she was and how lovely my grandfather's photo was - must have been influenced by the cinema of the times.
I appreciate your comment. I scanned the photo on my Epson scanner.

I wanted people to see my Mum in this beautiful photo by my grandfather, but especially to see the light within - she always had it, until her last few months when she did not recognize the camera any more.
It was sad to lose her in January, but she lived a good, long life.
