Looks almost like a cactus. Very interesting backlighting and subtle detail. The photo really grabs you. It'll stick in people's minds. Excellent. Again, I'm guessing this isn't so much a close macro as a more distant telephoto enlargement?

HEllo Guido,
Except for minor corrections on the exposure and white balance, this is a full frame, out of the camera image. I strive to achieve these types of backgrounds. The reason for this background is because it was taken with a 300mm lens and the nearest object, a field of grass and a scattering of small trees where over 100 yards behind the subject. Couple that with a relative small aperture and this is the results. I treat the background of my images with the same importance as the subject. That is what seperates my work from many others in my opinion.
