Thanks Pat. I guess you're right that I didn't comment on any of your wildlife shots. When I go through someone's portfolio, I'm drawn to the thumbnails that catch my eye. I suppose that if I were to go through my own portfolio w/o having seen the images before, I don't think this image would catch my eye. It's a small brown thing that doesn't stick out much from the background , and the edge of the grass runs through it --- not an exciting image. You're right that the Gerenuk is in an interesting pose, and it is tack sharp. I also uploaded it because this trip was the first time that I had ever seen such an animal, and I figured that others might like to see one too. Anyways, I'll go comment on the two (I think it was.) wildlife images in your portfolio that caught my eye, now that you've read a "critique" of my really boring image to put things in perspective. :)

James:

Can't belive this hasn't won an award. What an incredible pose! You get great detail in all of your shots. Big camera, fast lens, I guess you get what you pay for. I'm still using film/slide, I think to get anywhere near this quality I would need to jump into a 5400dpi scanner with good dynamic range. I have drueld over the high Canon digitals.. Maybe down the road. I do know that when I get a Dig. Cam It will be one if the Canon Pro series.

I am curios, In you critique of my portfolio, you jummped over the wildlife shots... Feel free. let me have it.. Can only make me better..

:-) Thanks again!

Great capture, this is a really nice shot of it's ability to forage in trees, who would think it could stand so erect?

Outstanding!!!

This is one of the most incredible animal pics I've ever seen. It almost looks like this guy is posing for you. Just remove the horns, replace the tree with a wall or fence, and you could practically insert any number of human models in the same pose.

Great clarity, DOF, and composition.

If you can, please comment on my pics. Since you like animals, I've put up a few as well.

Pradeep
