About Subject background: The snail side of life: always going upwards or downwards... always fluid... slowness as a virtue... burdened with a house... that others inhabit when the snails go... similarities to mankind intended! ;-)

PS concept: BW toning, framing

Hi Alper,

thanks a lot for your wonderful comment. I really appreciate your support, and you can tell me nothing better than "my images have depth". ;-)

I always try to not only shoot and upload. Pictures should tell stories.

thanks!

Thilo

Hi, most of your photos has some depth so they make one to look and stare for a while (unlike ordinary photos). I do not think this only because of they are simply beautiful, indeed their sense of depth does it. Anyway, English is not my native language, I tried to tell my opinion as simple as possible. Regards.

whats this talk about ?not being creative lately? this is so creative!
The black and white tones only emphasize the geometric nature of this image!
Its fantastic!
Into my favorites :)

Fascinating spiral!! This image is very different from other spiral cases I've seen. I like the black handrail, it creates a second swirl within the original. The lack of texture on the white part helps to enhance the hypnotic effect. Well done Thilo -- Kind regards, Rafael

Hi Roberto,

ah, you found my weak point! =)

I will definitely go for the upcoming 10-20 mm from Sigma if it's worth the price. I need that ultra wide angle part for my DSLR.

Hi Thilo,
I like the geometric form on this shot. But for some reason my screen is not showing a lot of detail in the stairs. No one else has mentioned this, so I must assume it is my graphics card that is not picking this up.

Thilo,

A nice architectural abstract to begin with (I have a soft spot for spirals). Your bold framing rounds it off nicely.

For this type of B&W I prefer a bit more punchy contrast. And I'd rather see steps all round or get rid of the ones on the top left.

Pleasant work.

I love these structures, but try as I might, I never get anything nearly as fine as this. If pressed, I would say it is a bit dark in the lower left quadrant. On the other hand, the frame is superb--tricky but just right for the subject and the treatment. First rate!

All the best,
--George

thanks for the feedback. Indeed, this stair is kind of special even if you stand right there. ;-)

Antonio Trincone   {K:23167} 5/16/2005
this is quite a wonderful spiral; but I must confess I can not realize exactly the ambient in real; it seems to be distorced a bit to...confuse...the viewer; well actually not...say to add some fascination and it deserves positive comment!

Jeanette Hägglund Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59855} 5/16/2005
The organic form, your about - all this make a great abstract alternate perspectie! The organic form as the snail can have on their house! On the three?s outside my apartment they only go upwards and stay there, slowly eating!
