About out of focus but was just surprised by the colours so thought I'd share.
Also note "vignette" in one corner. Not sure what it is yet. There for all the very slow shots. Slarti is from the pentax *istds family.

Ian,

You could use a smaller focal length, open the lens to f/5.6 and cut down the ISO to 400. That would give you less noise and more trails.

There are some who purposefully defocus star trails to emphasaze the colors. I have quite a few start trails in my portfolio, if you are interested.

I've seen quite a few of my lenses have off-center vignetting patterns.

wow - peculiar impression with distinct noise and blurred foreground subject - makes me think of your noisy bird earlier in the portfolio - it's a great effect (is it digital noise btw, or something else?)
