Great shot. Love not only the jumping one in the back but also the front one looking at you and being split apart from all the rest. My only regret with this image would be that the front one is not in focus... although given the distance between them it's understandable... otherwise an absolutely fantastic image.

Congratulations on the POD Chris! It's great to see you on the front page. This is so much fun. I like the way you composed it with the Mom as the focal point.

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 7/22/2005
Yes, it's a difficult one, Roger. All I can say in my 'defence' is that when I first loaded this image up I included it in my 'photoart' portfolio, only switching it to 'the best' portfolio some time after my reply to Ade McFade's comment in which I specifically stated that it's a composite. The two original photo's were taken just seconds and yards apart, with the lamb being in mid-air when I caught him with my D70. The resulting image is obviously a little more dramatic but, actually, not a world apart from the original. On reflection, when I shifted it out of my own 'photoart' portfolio it may have been better if I'd put it in the UF 'photoart' category.

As ever, thanks for your kind comment.

Best regars, Chris

Even as a PS compilation, this is a neat photo. Yes, I too thought it was a well timed shot, but it's still in my faves cuz I would have liked it even without his fellow lambs in the photo.

Congrats on the POD

Roger Williams Roger Williams   {K:86139} 7/22/2005
Congratulations, Chris. Although I note you wonder why they chose THIS particular one when you have so many others that are very special. Did you see how many people complimented you on your perfect timing when in fact this image has nothing whatever to do with timing? It seems that most were misled into thinking this was an actual photograph and not photo synthesis...

Congrats on the award, Chris. I was staring back at the sheep in the foreground for a while, before I spotted the athletics going on behind. Wonderful shot for this alone - but it's also beautifully composed and has a wonderfully limited range of tones.
