We hope the rain might arrive tomorrow...hmmm!!

I have just noticed some details damaged that aren't on the original. I can only put that down to compression for the upload.

This went straight to favorites. It is heart-stoppingly beautiful -- right from a fairytale. The color, detail and perspective are beautifully rendered. The cloud formations with the blue sky are perfect behind the sunflower. This is one of the best sunflower pics I've seen. Antonia

Thanks Melody. I always put them under Digital to help the newcomers know whether it is film or digital. I do PS work on most of my images in different respects. Some don't need any but others I tend to enhance different areas. I aim to photograph a lot of my images flat (especially ones with sky in them) so I don't lose any information in the details and then bring them back to where I want them on the computer. I hope this helps.

Hello Judi,

I noticed that you catagorized your photo under "digital". What sort of adjustments did you make to the original? I am trying to learn more about using PS to enhance photos. This is a fabulous photo!!!

Theres this thing that I do when I have to use build in flash, I stick a part of tiussio on it, not the sensor just the flash itself, a lot of of my friends laughed out loud and some were shocked at my ?diffuse? flash technique :P
The problem is I love to take portraits of my friends and I cant share them here because they usually cover their hair and they are not covered in the images!!!
Theres this image of a friend of mine at the beach making a splash jump into the water, I ont mean to brag or anything but I bet if I posted it it will get an award! It?s the best image I?ve ever taken and I cant post it
Oh my god I have to stop typing! Sorry Judi this comment went on forever!LOL :)

Thanks Carol. Yes the F828 can be used simply as a point and shoot camera. But I don't. I use my own settings and choose to go manual. I only use Autofocus when I need to but still with my own Aperture/Shutter/WB/Exposure etc setting son that image.

Thanks Martin. There were actually two pages of my images in that magazine. But they cropped one of the photos really badly.

This flower is a sunflower. The one in the mag is a Gerbera.

Thanks so much Arwa. I am with you in the flash area. I don't like it as it can be very artificial. Unless you are doing studio work as that is a totally different area.

But in this case I was experimenting by using different strengths of light added to the image through the camera and it work.

You gotta love those point and shoot digital cameras..Especially the ones with the Zeiss Optics..Their just incredible lens that can compete with any medium of photography. This image is proof of that with the detail you have captured. But all that aside. It is the vision you capture using your great imagination that amazes me in all your work Judi,
Keep it up!

Superb Judi... you've made good use of fill flash here to really bring out the one flower. Excellent sky in the background too... strongly suggesting you may get some rain! Well shot me little Aussie cobber!

arwa abdullah   {K:34415} 4/29/2005
Judi the poor sunflowers looks utterly lost in the storm!
they are still standing tall and bright but deep inside they are lost striving for the nominal ray of light
they even turned to catch the flash!!!!
im not a big fan of flash but it works here! :)
excellent work :)
