About this is a small tribute to a friend and among the pro masters of stage photography whose work (along with that of my dear friend Tolis Elefantis who was my first "teacher") still sets ever higher standards for that kind of photography... this photographer is Carlheinz Bayer and i strongly recommend to visit his new site
www.rockonstage.com
to see a more complete set of his works... it is more than well worth it...

Ahhhhhh. Blixa. One of my ABSOLUTE favorites! Until his recent departure, I enjoyed him a great deal with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, as well.

Quite a varied, and deliscious pallete of work you have here, Emily. You have my full attention, and sincere appreciation..

so glad you liked them dear CB... yes, digital is still tricky compared to analog... the first shots are always horrible till i find what fits each concert... but the fact i don't have to change rolls of film (i do change lots in concerts) and experiment with movement costless is somehow compensating... :)

This is really great, talk about being caught in the right moment. Dynamic and intense. I also like that you have included some more of the bandmembers in the background, shows that it's real from stage. Excellent!!

Hey Emy!
WOW! Saw Blixa a few times and you managed to capture his personality perfectly. This is one of the important keypoints of a striking concert image.
To freeze his gestic and mimic was the right choise. Still a lot of dynamic in the image.
Don't crop! Let the two other guys in the picture. Doesn't bother. It's a live shot not a studio promo shot.
Digital huh? All right! I still carry analog to the concerts. With analog I know what I get, digital is a bit to risky at the moment. ;-)
Thanks again for the encouraging words. So honored!
And let me tell you this is a great shot! Congratulations!!!

Yes, I very much agree-his concert images are full of energy and emotion. As such with this shot-he appears to be feeling the song with his heart as seen in his expression. A perfect moment to capture-well done Emy~

Very sharp and dynamic image, under what I know are difficult conditions.

Vergy good capture! You could crop even more to get closer. Anyway, it's an exciting moment. Congrats!

One of my old favorites, i?m "jealous" of you who could both be there to listen to the music, see them and ALSO take concert images. A VERY expressive portrait of Blixa Bargeld. Perfect work dear friend! :)
