Very nice shot. I've been to Vegas a few times and had trouble capturing the Paris hotel, but you've done a beautiful job here of capturing the Eifel Tower and fountain.

Yeah, gotta stick with it - Big Brother hasn't slapped any restrictions on it ...YET (must have a big lobby group behind it or something) Mark PS been watching the Brit elections on the BBC (via C-span) this week - wow, I'd love to see some of that here...amazing !

Oh, ok, you're talking about the rotate function within the PS crop tool. Gotcha. Thanks for the detailed explanation, and yes, here was enough coffee flowing in yer veins to make sense of it. ;)

I'm glad to hear that Paul. I've only done this twice on shots I REALLY like (the other was Michelle K's "Green Eyes / Red Hair" girl - don't think she called it anything - you can check it out and see what you think) Anyway - this is gonna sound like kindergarden cause I'm just learning PS elements 2.0 by trial and error. So you put the little cropping feature INSIDE the shot and then get that crop dash line to basically follow your original crop. Then when you put the marker (whatever it's called) OUTSIDE the shot (don't forget to extend the box out first so the shot's sitting in that gray frame) next to a corner it basically stops being straight and has a curve to it with arrows at both ends. So you hold down your mouse and you can swing / tilt the shot to the left or right depending on what you wanna straighten out or whatever. After you do that you close it and the little box comes up so you click on "crop" then the next box click on "save" (I'm probably doing this the SLOW / BACKWARDS way).When it's in your file and you bring it back up there's white areas in the corners since you shifted the picture. I just click on the cloneing tool and extend whatever building or sky or whatever there is to fill in the white area's (you might be able to spot a few sloppy places on the edges of the tower shot since I did it pretty quick) I'm sure there's a quicker way to do this but this is my trial and error way of doing it. Some PS "wizard" is probably laughing right now. You probably know by now that I'm a fan of PS to a certain point so I'm much more comfortable with elements 2.0 than 5.0 cause I just think less is more. Doing a little bit of clean-up / adjustment is status quo these days but to me totally rearranging the shot makes it photoart (which is fine if it's stated IMO) but I see ads today that have so much work done on them that they almost stop looking like Photographs (the purist in me can't quite let go - ha).Anyway, hope my instructs helped / made sense. It's an insomniac morning here so disregard stuff that's nonsensical (no coffee yet). This MIGHT be longer than a People magazine article, whoa :~>.....Take care, Mark

I'ts all good, Mark. I NEVER mind some constructive advice. I like your end result, but I'm unclear how you 'twisted' the image in PS. Did you do a perspective transform, or what?

Dear Paul, I HOPE you don't mind but the tower leaning kinda threw me so I repositioned it to go straight up and down and filled in the white spaces (from twisting the image a bit) with a quick, sloppy Photo Shop extention clone job.What do you think ? I think it works a bit better (but it's your shot and a very good one at that) so I'm just submitting this for your consideration.... Again, Hope you don't mind - just an idea, Mark

Lightwave program is a bit pricey, one version for almost $1600.00 doesn't even come with a printed manual........wouldn't you think they would throw that in? LOL

One of the largest trade shows in Vegas each year: National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). NewTek was there showing off our newest product, TriCaster, which sends a live show simultaneously to video, Projector and to the Internet. You can go to the NewTek web site and see it there. I'll post a photo with Kiki holding it tomorrow.
