Excellent capture, Christine. I know how difficult it is to capture these critters in flight like this. I have a similar photo in my portfolio (I say similar: flower with insect etc)
I'm sorry I have no idea what kind of flower it is. It's very pretty, though. Some kind of wildflower, perhaps?

yep, he does look like your bee, Monterey-- they must bee related ;) yep, took it by the ocean. Had a heck of a time with it, the flowers are hard to focus on because all of the differnet planes, and the lighting kept changing. I'm going to go back and try again, I think. Your photo is great!

Good shot pan with the bee and the auto-focus will lock on it.Here did you shoot the plant? Was it by the ocean. The bee looks like this guy.
