T, I really like both versions. The b+w gives the appearance of the clouds being backlit by a light box of some sort...very interesting. The color version has a really elegant tinted /antique feel to it. It suits the architecture wonderfully. Either way i like it!! E

Both versions are great. I like the mysterious drama in the b&W version but the colored shows the great building styles from your signature city! Great shot either way and love your portfolio!

Hi Carsten,
guess what? I made a third version just as you described it. After conferencing with my special creative director (better known as Chrissie), I neglected to show the better detailed shadow part thing. not pretty sure why but the other versions looked more interesting...
but anyway, thanks for the honest comment.
take care,
thilo

Hi Paul,
I wanted the real bold silhouettes versus the sky in the BW part... this is my alternative vision ;-)
thx for the honest feedback,

thanks for the critics,

If I had to chose I would vote for the B&W, but no easy decision. What about the B&W with more details in the shadows, like the color version shows ? Just an idea - I think about that because the silhouette feels a bit bold for me

Hi Thilo!!!!!
I love both pictures... Both show different things... One is very dramatic... The B&W... Shadow rising to a light... The sky is beautiful and impressive...
The second one shows the details of a city I love and the sky is equally impressive...
Do I have to chose???? The uploaded one... I like drama... That does not mean the color one is not beautiful, it's only less dramatic... both are stunning...
Cheers,
MaLuisa

Great tones and contrasts Thilo, my vote goes the the BW version, I guess because of the fine contrasts.

I see where you were going with this, but the contrast seems swallowed by the blacks, and the eye is drawn toward the high-contrast sunlight. Perhaps boost the gamma a little?

Excellent, i love it right away .. you kept the highlights in the sky under control.. the city underneath lays cosily covered in a "cotton veil" .. the silhouette is very appealing and is enhanced by the beautiful texture of the sky ! Peter

I like the color. although you were able to pull out the clouds in the B/w the forground, buildings, are just silhouette. I personally like to see the building. they are both great though.

Hi Thilo! Both are great, but if I have to choose, I prefer the main upload; more dramatic. Stunning mood and a beautiful city silhouette!
