About

This place is very sad. I will tell you more over coming photos.

For the BW fans, I have also converted it to BW...but I felt the country colours really did this image more justice.

Yes, I think so too. Although this windmill was placed here later than that era. but nobody has bothered to care for the area since. Very sad.

I'm viewing in reverse order Judi so I know what this is about already. I should be preserved as a memorial to that bygone age.

Hahahaha...I can't do that Alastair. 'Cause the tree is growing right up the middle..oops!!

Thanks Alastair.

It's me....!!

Nice shot Judi... The sky in particlar is very impressive! The only change I would make in this image is to move right slightly so as to get the tree away from the tower, highlighting the tower more against the light. I'm not sure what effect it would have with regard to the vanes on the ground though so maybe you looked at that possibility already and rejected it? Irrespective its a lovely shot showing the decay of historical structures... Really like it!

Very sad, indeed, Judi. Scenes like this, or falling down old barns really break my heart. On the other hand...you're sky is gorgeous!! ;)

very good daylight shot Judi, the background looks great, I wish only if the fan direction refer to the left side rather than the right one ,I think this will be more balanced .that's only a point of view if you allow me :)
Best regards

Hi Judi this is becoming a common sight all over our great land. with the invent of electric pumps and solar power( which is the best invent for the "cockies") these simple pieces of machinery are left to die. you've captured the mood fantastically well done.
Oh yeah GO the BLUES ;)

Windmills are a thing of the past in many places, Judi. We still have a lot of them in western Nebraska where the wind blows constantly and it is a long ways to electricity. You have a nice composition with a great sky. Regards, Larry
