About This is a photo of the top of a minaret of Al-Maridani Mosque from the inside.... Doesn't it remind you of a human eye ?

A basic feature of all mosques is a tower called the minaret. In Islamic countries the muezzin (caller) enters the minaret and calls the people to prayer.

Look down to see the Minaret from the outside.

I dedicate this photo to my friend Shady Adly: http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/15670.html....

Camera Settings: 1/60 sec - f/3.5 - ISO 200 - Focal Length 28mm.

This is such an unusual combination of angle, light and details that it really draws the viewer in. I can imagine holding a print in my hand and turning it this way and that finding new and interesting wys of viewing it. Great work.

Excellent sharpness and detail here! Yeah, it kind of does look like an eye. It also looks a little dangerous to climb! Great perspective for this shot.

Hehe, a great variant of that famous photo taken in one of the towers of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona :-) Yours seems to be an even better spot because of the see-through metallic spiral. Well captured.

Hi Dirck,
Thanx for your nice comments.
This photo was captured with a 28-300mm lense at a focal length of 28 mm.
Actually there are still Muezzins in all the mosques in Egypt but they don't go up the minaret, they just call for the prayer in microphones and the speakers are put up the minarets.
Thanx again my friend,
Khaled.

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 3/17/2005
Great point of view, Khaled - not something I have ever seen! The roundness of the minaret makes it look like you took this with a fish-eye lens! Do any of these old mosques still have an actual muezzin or do they use recordings?

Khaled Mursi Hammoud Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:54005} 3/17/2005
Hi Ayse,
Just in the old Mosques that's permitted to go up the minarets and even not all of them.
Thanx my friend,
Khaled.

The perspective looks great. also looks smart in BW colors. I guess it is the top part of the minaret. Do they let people into the minarets in Egypt?

Khaled, you know my feelings for this one, can't tell you again.
All the praise words don't fit this one we have to find some thing new.
This how the talented eye could capture the beauty where ever it could be and appear its magical world,
It's absolutely outstanding my friend,
I'm in love with this one.
Thanks a lot for the dedication.
Best regards
