Dave: It's cool what those short focal lengths will do in the way of depth-of-field. I really like the composition and tones in this one.

this is s super composition Dave ... the best of your latest submissions. The barbwire fence pulls my eye right in to the main focus of the shack. The spartan color just adds to the drama...well done!!!

I feel pain looking at the fence, it could be (but obviously it's not) a second world war prisoners camp.

Great one.

This is a great one. I love how you ran the fence right along the edge of the picture. The black and white creates just the right mood. Nicely exposed too, in spite of the brightness of the scene. Expert work as usual.

I love this one. It reminds me of the Kansas prairie which is dotted with old homes not unlike this. My last visit a few years ago I visited the house of my birth. It was very much like this. BTW I had 5 siblings and one uncle in that house with me, not counting my parents. Excellent capture, Del

Steve Andrews Steve Andrews   {K:114} 3/16/2005
Hi Dave...an interesting thumb, and on clicking it, I think you have lost some detail due to OE. There is a large expanse of snow which may have fooled your meter. I would also prefer this in colour because there appear to be some nice textures in this old hut, but which can't be seen properly due to B/W rendition.
As for composition, it would have been a better balanced image had the hut been on the ROT's as opposed to being more central.
That's purely my opinion, and anyway, keep shooting and thanks for sharing.
Regards....Steve.
