About Subject background: Two normals trees - at least they seem so. But when watched through the eyes of an IR filter, they become magic somehow... pretty weird that we sometimes have to look through different filters/eyes to REALLY see the importance of things in life.

PS concept: Double exposure/sandwich technique. Base layer is IR, the second layer is color that's blended as a soft light.

Special equipment: Hoya R72, tripod

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated

Great concept this hybrid technique, thanks for the tech info. Good photography shows us things we dont see normally or shows them in another way - and this is a really good example.

Beautiful work Thilo, you're a real example of this double colour/IR technique.

Looks great Thilo, esp. where the sky and tree limbs meet. Now that I have a 2nd film body, I can experiment with IR film, (the 300D can't use an IR filter). I will probably wait until spring though, when there is more greenery present.

Regards,
Chris

hi angelo,

yeah, IR pics normally lack some interest ;-)

I will go ahead with some motion blur combinations with IR...

thanks for the feedback,

thilo

Very nice technique, Thilo.

The image itself lacks a bit of interest, though.

I agree with Maria Luisa's comment specially on the real - unreal part. Thank you for sharing the technique with us. Can't wait to give it a try.

When I saw the thumbnail, I knew this was yours my dear friend... Love the composition... The trees seem so unreal and at the same time so real... Both trees look as if they were twins... I feel here a concept of duality... All nature is magic... Simply we sometimes choose not to see it...

Lovely!!!

Cheers,

MaLuisa
