Hi Jan, thanks for your comments. Funny that you should mention her hair because in another week or two she is getting it cut above her chin. She's been growing it out for over a year in order to donate it to "Locks of Love" which will turn it into a wig for young cancer patients and so forth.

Elizabeth, I love this portrait. I'm glad you did not crop out the top of her head, her flowing hair is just beautiful. And the grain is perfect!

interesting, I don't miss the hands at all. Sure it would be nice to have them, but then not having them makes sure the focus is completely on her mood and expression. It is about her mood, not about what she is doing.
When I upload a photo I often think this or that will proably something people will like, or not. Once it's up the reaction is often surprising.
What I like about your portfolio is that you actually trying specific situations, realize an idea.

Thanks for the comment David. I was undecided about this one, and expected some negative feedback for chopping off her hands. No one has mentioned it yet, but I think "I" would like it better had the hands been included.
