I love the way you composed this, with the diagonal Z. The color does add something to the image, its the bit of warmth that all who have once roamed these streets have left behind. Even a city without any "visible" life, has a life of its own to share. The warm orange contrasts nicely with the dead branches(the stranger who taps on your shoulder, but when you look behind you nobody is there). Well done and a great series~

The use of colour does nothing to disperse the lonely souls who have wandered these now empty streets, devoid of life with the exception of one small acknowledgement of nature in the twisted and dead looking tree branches and even they could be made of metal wrought by the hand of the now absent human... black & white is an obvious choice to enhance the loneliness of the big smoke.. Here tho, with colour and a master photographer at work, the mood is maintained if not notched up a little by the clever use of colour by a clever and deft artist who know her medium well and uses it to its best potential. This harks back to the unnerving portents of De Cherico surrealist waking nightmares 7= M
