Thanks Tony for your comments. I too used to lug around many pounds of equipment and sink alot of money into my passion, but I have been considerably freed of both since I switched to digital. I rarely miss my SLR. I mainly shoot jpeg @ 50. On very rare occasions, I will shoot Raw, but I much prefer jpeg for ease and space constraints. I do notice a bit of noise at times, but I've noticed if I do a fairly good job in the field with exposure and such and not have to re-work in PS, it cuts down on unwanted noise. PS is where I've noticed alot of noise is generated. Thanks again for your interest!

What a great icicle!Strong composition well complemented by the sky.Very sharp and well cropped too.I like the way the others fall back out of focus creating good DOF.Thank you Ingrid for commenting on my Conversations in the Fog I'm glad you enjoyed it !One technical question;I have a Canon G6 too which I carry most of the time and usually use for street photography and when I can't be bothered to lug around all my SLR equipment-and regret afterwards!Anyway, worried about unwanted noise I usually set ASA 50 or 100 and then shoot Jpegs but occasionally people on usefilm comment on noise. What settings do you use and do you use Raw or JPEG?Looking forward to hearing from you, best wishes, tony.

This is amazing, like something sculpted out of metal. I love the clouds reflected through it and the great dof. Alison

Good macro shot Ingrid. The background works well, and a nice composition.

Incredible clarity and brilliant refractions inside the icicle. The use of diagonals is a very good idea and adds interest to an already excellent image.
