Quite the departure for you in here... don?t quite know what to make of it. Always the impulse to read what I see with my own visual prejudices? but I try to keep in mind literal interpretation is to be avoided when looking at an abstract.
Anyway, I subscribe to the great quote Wilde offers, which is very apropos for photographers, even if I doubt he had photographers in mind when he wrote - ?The mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible?.
And the visible ?mystery? in this shot, what it seems to be anyway, is an ominous meditation on suicide? the silhouette considers the hangman?s rope deliberately placed in the crack in the cement which leads the eye to the unknown destination? a vague promise of an afterlife? ( hey, I could be seeing things Luis? too much smoke, too much booze last night? -; )
In any case, whatever else this picture may be about, it is compelling!
Um abraço
C

Heheh... the size is nice, but I'm not sure I would want it to bend that way...

It's kind of cool how you got that hotspot right around your head there. It kind of confuses the effect of the shadow on the ground on one level, but on another that gives the image more dimensionality and thus I think it actually works really well. You lose sight of the perspective and think the figure is actually standing there and that adds to the humourous intent of the image. The crack also helps draw the eye to your focal point, which is well done.

I'm not sure what commentary to interpret having the rope lying against a crack, though... heh.
