Mammamia what a picture...
With this spectacular shot you are demonstrating one more time that art is every where. You just need to pay more attention to your surroundings. You don't even have to get out of your house to get great pictures.
The drop splashing around looks like the king crown
7+++ for this excellent capture.
Keep up the good work.

I think you are right, but I dont have any extra equipement, and all my drops I have photographed them with my simple and standard Canon G3! and without tripod too! But I am sure that instead of the flash, it would be certainly much better to have that Speed Light Lamp or called something like that!

It's not a matter of Camera but of lenses and technique.

In fact using a 300 Macro means having poor DOF.

Technically i could improve using a tripod for not loosing focus, regulate better focus using some floating item as "marker" (to focus on) placed in the exact point where drop falls.
Finally i could use faster time (not using flash) but a dedicated light spot.

What do you tink about it ?

Ciao.

Good but still not so sharp! Can you do it sharper with your D70?

Hi Dave,
thanks for your kindness and attention.
I did not add any colour. The color tones are due to a copper pot i intentionally used for this effect.

Ciao.

Excellent timing, Ale! I like the addition of some colour here, too, it adds a lot to the shot!

Thanks everybody for your appreciations.
I like my hobby and i like it more when i can share my works with others.
Thecnically, i think i could have done better for improving DOF.
Next time i'll try to

1) use f32
2) don't use flash in order to use sequence shot feature (you don't know how patient i had to be using single shot feature due to flash use).
3) use faster shutter time (1/1000 or more)
4) buy a tripod and use it

To do all this i'll need much more light in the scene...maybe a good lamp will be sufficient.

I'll let you know about my experiments.

Thanks again.
;-)

;-)
