i think the colors could use a saturation boost to add more Pete Turner kind of color statement impact! Even without that it is an interesting composition because of the texture and lighting.

What are you worried about? Variety is great and as we all know not everyone likes the same things, especially when it comes to photos. I have showed people my favorite pictures only to have them dismiss them as just OK. Trust your eye and what appeals to you as an artist, it's the only way.Glad your folks like it and BTW, I like it. -mm

The colors and details are great Peta. I understand your feeling of reluctance when it comes to certain types of images, but hey, this is why we are here on usefilm. Sometimes people just aren't going to see what you see, but that does not make it bad. Besides, looking at images on a computer screen is just not the same as seeing a matted, framed photo hanging on a wall, especially when put in the context of say an art gallery, beach house or cabin in the woods. Anyway, I like this image in whatever context.
