Thanks, Marilyn. When it gets a little warmer, I'll have to go outside and sit very still with camera ready. I have not been using my tripod except for longer exposures. I guess I should try it for other pictures as well. Take good care of you. Mary -

Mary, I don't mind you asking and I hope I can be of some help. I have been told not to go into digital. Someone told me that my camera did not have it but I guess it does but haven't figured out how to turn it off even thru the manual. I use a tripod alot and am just as patient as can be. Alot of retakes on birds because they don't stay still for very long. Oh, my telephoto lens is x1.5 just a little better than the camera itself. Thanks for your comment. This site is wonderful for help from other members. Marilyn

I have been enjoying your bird pictures. It is a little strange to see a Cardinal listed as a bird of Southwest Florida. We think of them as one of our favourite winter birds. We have a few pair at our feeder every year. Then, I guess we send them to you to feed. Your bird pictures are so crisp and clear. Are you using zoom on your digital for these? How much zoom do you have? I have tried to get some good bird shots, but am not happy with them. I hope you don't mind my asking. Mary -

This is a beautiful Cardinal, the vivid red is outstanding, wonderful shot. I have never actually seen one of these here, I guess we are missing out... very nice....
