About	He was in my neighbors tree. Don't know what he was doing out of the woods but with all the building going on around here there's less places for them to hide. Sad. He looks small but his wingspan was WIDE about 40 inches.

another very wonderful shot of this RSH, Thats a female, and she really let you get close, as it looks as though you crept up nicely and her attention was on somthing. I shoot many of these Red shouldered hawks and they reall done like cameras, wonderful job of getting close and getting the nice full frame shot...

Andre, I know what you mean that's why it was so special to see him in our neighborhood. I think he's here for our scrawny squirrels; nothing like the fluffy ones up north. Marilyn

It's funny, I can walk in the woods for hours and not see them in the trees, yet driving along the highway we see them perched all the time. I don't think the hawks go for roadkill either. They probably get a good view of critters crossing the road though.
