About Subject background: 2nd in line of my small series regarding Ellis Island. This time I add another component: the reflection on the wall ;-)
The island was once the gate for immigrants that wanted to join the US.

The pictures that I will upload were done during the sunset. IMHO the time was just right to catch interesting shadows and lighting conditions.

PS concept: mild work on contrast and levels.

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated.

Very nicely spotted and well created.

I like this one very much too... The soft reflection is a nice contrast to the well defined geometry of the reflected half...

Hi Thilo...

The reflections in the wall are IMHO the must interesting part of this picture... I like very much all the details you captured there... Excellent perspective... The combination of lines creates harmony here...

cool das die Wandreflektion alles überstrahlt, selbst stärker als das gespiegelte Original...
mein Blick prallt regelrecht ab von der Wand...

starkes Ensemble

I think I like this one just as much as the other...the comingling of shadow and reflection leaves little room for the limitations of physical realm. Keep 'em coming!

Todd Miller   {K:16464} 2/2/2005
nice one Thilo! great eye to get this as always. that double version of reality is wonderful. love the warm colors too. well done.

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 2/1/2005
Thilo, this is fantastic, just like your previous! I love the wall reflection too! Wonderful! But if I would have to chose, I think the composition is a bit better on the previous one, because it was more split into 3 parts.

Jeanette Hägglund Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59855} 2/1/2005
I agree with Kevin about the water feeling.... This one is also very beautiful shot! This reflection on the right has an unreal vision....
