evanescent... the magic natural cycle of life of corruption and rebirth ...

A pixie?

I like a lot that soft touch of colors and that kind of colors in the licheen...

Excellent and magic art...

Lichen ....hmmmmmm..... seems coral in my my mind and strikes me the way it does Emy. And also it seems somehow different then the others you've made using a similar process. It's because of the subject I think.......... this one having a whimsical quality that comes from the scale of your face in relationship to the rest of the image...... as if you're an intruder in an underwater dreamscape. Or maybe you're the narrator of the dream. Enchanting image, Jeanette!!

Thanks Svend! The lichens normal colour is like lime green, but i did not care about that :)

Your best integration of negatives yet. Wonderful complementarity of textures. And I think just a little delicate hand colouring? Great touches. The lichen works like a flower... Just excellent. Rgds, Svend

I tuoi lavori non finiscono mai di stupirmi, sempre idee nuove e ben realizzate, comincio a sospettare che hai una cultura artistica pittorica alle spalle, comunque, bellissima!

jeanette, once I read the story about the shadows on walls and plaster in hiroshima - silhouettes of people passing burnt forever into stone by the nuclear flashlight of the bomb: remotely and very vague, your work reminds me of some of these

Dear Jeanette,

I'm not so far away....I have translated mould from the spanish word "moho". (lichen= like a kind of "dry mould").

See you....

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 2/1/2005
Great shot, Jeanette! Like a very old print on which the emulsion is cracking and falling off... I'm guessing the texture is from a photo of a lichen growing on a rock? I love how a slight squint of the eyes causes the face to just 'pop' out at the viewer!

is Miguel right with rust or mold? my guess goes in a similiar direction...

beauty almost covered from a 'uuuaahh' texture...but you still can see the elegancy trough...

darkroom work?

OK......how did you do this, Jeanette??? The textures are mysterious, and nearly impossible to define. The composition is strong enough to demand one's attention....both for the beauty of "her" and for the intriguing nature of the materials. Wonderful work....no surprise!

oh...my... not only you have captured many "essences" to create a mystical collection of lives... dreams... emotions... but also you paint fairytales to life!!! most wonderful merge leaving the viewer searching in the oceans of memory to find this wonderful mermaid!!!! dreamy and soft behind the texture reveals slowly its beauty... like a sweet you eat slowly because you don?t want to finish it!!! like this one!!!! wonderful work my dear Jeanette... you never seem to fail in quality and creativity!!!!
hugs... emy :)
