It's somewhat strange to return to the city where you grow up as a tourist. And going to "tourist places" to show your kids how beautiful the city is seemed even stranger but somewhat fun. You meet people from all around the world and that makes you feel like a tourist at home. Interesting sensation.
Well, as you can see, the crowd was high after two days of rain. No wonder. Such a beautiful day made everyone in town move to the top to admire the views. And those wanting more could hire helicopters for scenic flights.
Shot with my F2AS, handheld, 24/2.8, on Fuji's Provia 100 at around f/8. Slightly underexposed to increase color saturation.
thanks for the feedback. Nice to know you liked it. Provia is one of my favourite films today. Unfortunatelly Velvia 50 (the real one I think) became somewhat difficult to find here but I find that underexposing Provia 100 by half or even 1 stop, depending on light, you gain beautiful color saturation. And then there's Nikkor lenses which are more on the contrasty side to help... Add a sunny day and the recipe is almost ready.
After years away we see old things with different eyes. And that's very nice I believe. Unfortunatelly there wasn't enough time to visit other places but this only works as an excuse for more visits, isn't it?
What an awesome scene, Jose. The extra saturation gives it almost a Velvia quality (except that the skin tones look natural). Your about really helps to give us a framework from which to view this wonderful shot. Who says you can't go home again??? lol Best wishes, Kurt
