There is a clear connection between the two and yet there isn't. I think the reason they belong together is hidden from us.

The gritty, smudged, spent, oily lamp blackness of this touches all my senses. Marvelous stuff from you, Emy!

Perfect image for the lines project. I esp. like the first image with the curve thrown in, though I could possibly do without the sky. In the second image I love the lines of the rails and the shadows combined. Nice eye~

carrefour against straight way. on rails as in the life. yes or not? If one way, what will be our life? and if the other one, who knows?

we all know that a picture tells a story... one can be banal... and talk about coming and going... contrasts and composition...
But this also serves after seeing in the international press these recent days... the trains proceeding to a destination... filled with human cargo... this is was I see... and serves as such a reminder...

there's something so fascinating about train rails - illusive, neverending converging lines are a great resource for your impressive photograhic imagination.
brava, once again!

Very interesting experiment with line. Good comparison of the simple and complex.

diptychs you use; and there is an affluence of stories that you tell; now these two - one-point perspectives - I would never think of putting together but your choice gives an elegant message even if that is the mere; that the left is a detail of the right; yor title marks two ways though... it might also be a sequence; the right photo taken from a bridge above the rails, the left photo taken at the end of a fall from the bridge; excuse my need to find the story behind, I am just doing that with all photos that capture my interest... it's excellent emily; congrats

..and now i jump in your portfolio:-), particulary, in this last one which strikes me for the urban /industrial location (i'm very interested on it) and for surreal tones. The coupling of the two image works very verygood. let me say that I find many assonance with my last work...sense of surreal extraneousness, absence od human subject but at the same time i feel and i see the loneliness of man in the modern society! Great work! another optimal inspiration for next works ;-)
Compliments,
M

Fabrice
