About Subject background: Obviously, the statue of liberty ;-)

after getting thru the kind of scary security checks, I placed my IR filter on the lens and tried some weird shot of the statue. hope you like the outcome. a running child became the victim for my title concept ;-)

PS background: flipped red and blue with the channel mixer, worked on the saturation and the gradient curves.

As always: honest feedback highly appreciated.

Still trying to catch up with 200+ pictures from my friends. stay tuned ;-)

and hey: Still trying to cope with 2000+ pictures from New York =)

hi uwe,

HAha... I know what you mean... some days away... a lot of pictures to edit.... and friends pic to appreciate...
Original... I don?t very much about IR filters.. . but there?s a brazilian photographer, Romulo Lubachesky, you must know:
http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/17675.html.
I?d prefer the child was left centered a little.... but I like it.
Wellcome back!!

Sure, quite appreciative !! But it appears as if the child flees the statue .. never mind, beautiful toning indeed ! (as i started IR, this tone comes quite familiar !)
Cheers, Peter

Hi Thilo...

Excellent IR... Love the composition and the angle... Great the movement of your victim... Love the blue you got with the channel mixer...

At first your tittle reminded me of a movie with the same same... :)

2000 pictures??? And I thought I was the only crazy person in the world... I love to take thousands of shots!!!!!! Even when I used film, in a 3 day trip to Disney world, I took about 15 rolls... HAHAHAHHA :)

Cheers,

MaLuisa

hi thilo!

vg, uwe

Dear Fadel,

you may bet on that! Shooting with IR filter is horrible for non-tripods like me ;-)

thx for the feedback,
thilo

Very beautiful angle Thilo, it seems the IR filter way downexpose the image, your camera settings sound like you're shooting at night! this is wonderful my friend!

Very dramatic shot! I can almost thee the statue's eyels looking at the 'escaping' child!
I will have to experiement with 'channel switching' (do you do this with the TV remote? lol..
Regards,
Omar

Normally I steer clear of perfectly centered photos....but this is an exception. There are things going on in this pic, that take my attention away from that. First, your treatment of the sky is tremendous...the color is rich, but subdued, and the clouds add such spice. Additionally, the running child adds more than a visual spark...it begs the question...what is he running from?? A very intriguing piece, my friend! ...Brad

Thilo, this is really an excellent catch - the desat look is perfect as is that small person blured by the movement - nice one - looks like a still frame from an 8mm movie - K

Hi Thilo, The rather dark tones of the photo place the statue of liberty in a different light / atmosphere. Very effective rework, but the shot is also very good to begin with. The motionblur of the running kid adds to the effect you enhanced in PS. Very good work...

I've been editing and archiving my photos too, it takes quite some time.... Good luck!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Thilo,
