About Findhorn sands can be a very difficult beach to find meaningful compositions on. I noticed these tide pools catching the evening sunshine but I had to wait until the last possible moment to avoid flare yet capture the wonderful reflected light. I was lucky I got away with it.

More velvia! fantastic. I have been looking for some film to do some shots of our coast at night. Big hour long exposures I thought, minimal iso. I have plenty of time.
Very much encouraged seeing these.

Hi Ian

Thankyou for your kind comments. The UK is astonishingly beautiful the main difference between the UK and the USA is how hard you have to work to find the amazingly beautiful scenery that UK has to offer everything has to be right lighting, composition and location, only then can we truly match and dare I say surpass some of the beauty that the USA has to offer.

Ian Hunter   {K:1673} 2/21/2005
I recently commented on a photo taken in the USA that here in Britain we cannot match that sort of natural beauty. How wrong I was. The light in this photograph is undoubtedly magical and I am stunned by the stillness of the water, which reflects the exquisite colours of the sky so well. Congratulations on such a magnificent shot.

Excellent composition in a tricky lighting situation. I really like the serpentine curves of the sands and contrating pastel colors in the tide pools. Perfect!! -mm

Thankyou Peter that comment in Findhorn sunset should have applied to this photo. Findhorn Sunset had a 0.6 ND hard edged grad applied across the sky. The colour was breathtaking and is as near as possible a match for my original transparency. I wish you could see it projected.

Amazingly beautiful. The composition and colors are excellent. The edge of the tidepool tinged with gold leads the eyes into the picture. The warm colors and textures are superbly captured. Congratulation on the well-deserved award.
