Fabulous photograph Ade, the detail and the lighting look just great :-)
Best wishes and a very Happy New Year, I trust your evening went very well :-) I was on Efes all last night so didn't have a hangover this morning .... (Turkish beer)

You have done very well. The position of the sculpture in the frame and the dramatic sky creates a very strong dynamic. Regards & Happy New Year. John

Cheers Howie.
It was impossible to get both sculpture detail and a decent sky - even at -2 stops the sky was nowhere near right. I had to go to -2.5 to get that one right. Then to about -1/3 to get the detail in the actual sculpture.
I tried loads of grad filters too!
It's not such a chore if you've got AEB on your camera I guess. Most do these days.
Glad I went to the effort though. I've got a few with bland white skies and they are dull in comparison.
Cheers
Ade

Nice composition and light in the sky. I like how you exposed three times to get the exposure which you remember what it looked like. I must try that sometime :)

I baa gum! (I've some friends from Bradford that teach me some funny West Yorkshire words ;) )
The composition is great the sense of perspective too. The contrast of light between the statue and the sky is perfect. thanks a lot also for the technical comments. Always appreciated ;)
see you

Great work Ade! I would never have known it was from 3 images! I love the sky and the way it complements the reclining form.
