Love these kind of shots. I got a good image and a little bit of the real world in Irland. I've been trying to visit for years.

Another great composition of the same scene. I like the low light and the fence crossing the image.
If you're shooting RAW, then you can process it twice (once for the main image, and once for the sky), and then paste them together in PS. It's this capability of digital that makes it more flexible than film for me, because it's like you can have your split neutral density filter follow the contours of the image.

Hi Shane, the two Boundry shots are wonderful--nice tones and geat composition. What you did with the sky looks very good and it's given me a very helpful hint on how to handle blown out skies. Thanks!

Hey Shane, haven't seen you in quite some time, but I see you are still capturing fantastic photographs. What can I say, it is beautiful. It looks like such a majestic part of the world, and you have caught every bit of it.
I think first of all I have to afree with the graduated effect you applied to the sky, it has helped to contain the image and you have done it well - if you hadn't have mentioned it, I don't think I would have even noticed. Next, is the perspective; I see this in a lot of your work and you do it with such style. I look at the closest fence post here, and no matter how I try, I find my eye travelling off into the distance with the fence. As for the frame, I don't there are many images that don't benifit from a frame, be it three meters or three pixels, a frame is like the paintwork on a car - sure, it may still be a precision built vehicle, but it isn't finished without paint - and a photograph isnot complete without something of a frame.
Great work Shane, - Justin

A sheep fence like a China wall - keeps going all the way and beyond ! Can't they simply dab some color paint on the sheep to identify them. Fencing seems such a hard work.
Shane, Interesting info. Makes the image even more interesting.
regards, ken. PS - if you have some time - please take a look at my Ireland images in my website

This area is only 15 miles from where I live. I want to wait for snow or frosty weather and dawn light before I shoot again. As for the framing, well, you cant please everybody but most people seem to think it adds to the image so I will stick with them for a while!

Love the concept and good compo. You might want to try other angles at this great location. Never been a fan of frames, they are only distracting
